The combined work of Akiko Kuwahata and Ken Winther is something extremely special to behold. The highly-skilled husband and wife team have an impeccable attention to detail and use their backgrounds in furniture making and architecture to craft pieces that are simply sublime.

The duo work together from their picturesque workshop in the Danish countryside, designing and producing objects of timeless quality, revealing the potential of raw, natural wood through modern design. All items are handmade to order with the greatest care.

A favourite item of ours is their ‘2 to 1 Breadbasket’, which includes two steam-bent rings with a coloured cloth sandwiched in-between. Simple, yet outstandingly effective. Items from Akiko Ken Made appear delicate, yet sturdy and truly showcase the best of Japanese and Danish design.
